The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 offers greater performance for intensive engineering tasks due to its high-end processor and RAM, making it well-suited for professionals who need powerful computing capabilities. Its higher price reflects this performance. However, with a touchscreen and better battery capacity, it's less portable than lighter options. On the flip side, the Razer Blade 15, while less expensive and featuring a gaming laptop appearance, provides solid performance for general use and gaming. It has a larger screen, which gamers and video editors might prefer, and its keyboard and build quality are highly rated, but it compromises on battery life and portability. Both have great screens for color-sensitive work, although the Razer's is slightly better for fast motion. If you prioritize portability and casual use, and want to save money, the Razer Blade 15 is a better choice, while the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is geared more towards professionals requiring higher computing power. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 has a better screen than the Razer Blade 15 for software development, and content creation, while the Razer Blade 15 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
For general use, a laptop like the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2, with a high-resolution display and excellent brightness, offers crisp and clear images, making it ideal for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing. For engineering and design, the same device with a wide color gamut can reproduce accurate colors essential for professional photo editing and CAD work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is crucial, a laptop like the Razer Blade 15, despite its high-quality display, falls short if it lacks a high refresh rate, leading to less fluid visuals in fast-paced scenarios.

The Razer Blade 15's higher screen refresh rate and potent Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU make it very good for gaming and 3D applications, providing smoother visuals and better rendering than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2, which still delivers good performance with its Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and lower refresh rate screen for such tasks. Despite the Surface Laptop Studio 2's lower refresh rate, its screen has a higher pixel density and touchscreen functionality, offering a sharper image and added versatility.

How the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 and the Razer Blade 15 compare to other laptops
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
"The 2022 Blade 15 offers roughly 15 to 25 percent faster graphics performance and 20 percent faster CPU performance over last year's Core i7-11800H and RTX 3080 model. Thankfully, the system doesn't need to run noticeably louder or warmer to achieve faster results, but both power consumption and battery life take a hit. The higher consumption in particular appears to be a trend amongst many 12th gen Core laptops including the Schenker Uniwill Technology GM7AG8P or MSI Vector GP66 when compared to their previous generation counterparts. We're also glad to not see below-average CPU performance which was the case for the 10th gen Core i7-10875H model."
