Based on what you've mentioned, your decision between the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13-inch and the MSI Stealth GS77 should consider your priorities. If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option that offers general computing capabilities and portability due to its smaller size and lighter weight, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 could be a good choice. However, if you need a laptop with high performance for gaming, 3D modeling, machine learning tasks, or engineering software, and you're willing to invest more, the MSI Stealth GS77 would be a better fit despite being more expensive and less portable due to its larger size and weight. Always consider how closely the device's capabilities align with your most common tasks and whether the tradeoff in cost, performance, and portability makes sense for your everyday use. Give Feedback

The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for general use, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" is good.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" offers a highly portable design and longer battery life which is ideal for users on-the-go, while the MSI Stealth GS77, with a more powerful CPU, enhanced screen quality, and more RAM, excels in demanding tasks but is less portable and has slightly shorter battery life. The Surface Laptop is also very good for everyday activities and multimedia due to its high-resolution touchscreen and quality build, but the Stealth GS77's high-performance components and larger screen make it a better fit for intensive uses like gaming or creative work, despite being bulkier and pricier.

The MSI Stealth GS77 has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" offers a bright, high-resolution display suitable for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work, thanks to its vibrant colors and sharpness. However, it falls short for gaming and 3D applications due to its lower refresh rate, which doesn't provide the smooth visuals that these activities often require. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS77 has a display that excels in color accuracy essential for professional design and engineering software, while also providing a satisfactory experience for general use, but, like the Surface, it isn't designed with a high refresh rate needed for demanding gaming and 3D rendering.

How the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"The Surface Laptop 5 remains afloat as a solid machine. It's just not one that stands out in any particular way. Just like the last one. The biggest upgrade were some new components, but they perform in the same range as other laptops with them, and frequently at the bottom of that range. I suspect Microsoft's settings are very conservative to help keep cooling and battery life within reason in the older chassis design."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
