If portability and cost are your primary concerns, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s would be a better choice due to its typically lower price and slightly higher portability score, and it also offers a touchscreen. However, if you prefer a laptop with longer battery life and a larger screen, consider the LG Gram 16, keeping in mind that it's usually more expensive. For performance, both laptops are equipped with the same processor and RAM, delivering similar capabilities for general use, engineering work, and 3D or machine learning tasks. Neither is designed for intensive gaming, despite their able processors and integrated graphics. Give Feedback

The LG Gram 16 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s for software development.
The LG Gram 16 and Lenovo ThinkBook 13s both have high-resolution displays with ample brightness and color accuracy, making them suitable for general use where clarity and visibility are key. For engineering and design tasks that demand precise color representation, both laptops offer good color gamuts ensuring that the colors you see on-screen are rich and true to life. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-paced visuals are common, both models lack the higher refresh rates required for smooth motion, making them less ideal for those activities.

How the LG Gram 16 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s compare to other laptops
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
"The best thing about the ThinkBook 13S is that it’s a good deal. Business buyers looking for ThinkPad-level performance and software without ThinkPad pricing will probably find the ThinkBook a solid option. While nothing about it is really spectacular, it’s certainly unusual to see the ThinkBook’s screen resolution at a sub-$1,000 price, and its performance will be more than adequate for most office tasks. The generous port selection, 16:10 aspect ratio, physical webcam shutter, and clear audio are certainly icing on the cake."
