The LG Gram 16 offers better performance for engineering tasks and has a significantly larger screen, which might make it a better choice if you prioritize productivity and screen real estate. However, it comes at a higher cost and is less portable than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3. On the other hand, the Surface Laptop Go 3 offers better portability, a touchscreen, and is less expensive while still providing solid performance for general use. If portability, touch capability, and a lower price are more important to you, then the Surface Laptop Go 3 would be the preferable option. Give Feedback

The LG Gram 16 and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 are both good for general use, though the LG Gram 16 is somewhat better.
The LG Gram 16, with a high-end CPU, more RAM, and a larger, higher-resolution screen, offers better performance and enhanced multitasking capabilities for general use than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, which has a mid-range CPU, less RAM, and a smaller, lower-resolution screen. However, the Surface Laptop Go 3 is slightly lighter and has a higher-rated keyboard, making it more portable and potentially a better choice for users prioritizing mobility and typing experience over screen real estate and power.

The LG Gram 16 is good for engineering and design, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 is only fair.
The LG Gram 16 is better for engineering and design owing to its more powerful CPU, double the amount of RAM, and a graphics processor that ensures smoother operation in demanding tasks, alongside a higher-resolution and larger screen which provides a better visual workspace. In contrast, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, while more portable and having higher-quality speakers, falls short in performance for engineering due to less RAM, a less powerful CPU, and a smaller and lower-resolution touchscreen display.

The LG Gram 16 has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the LG Gram 16 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 offer high-resolution displays with ample brightness, making text, images, and videos appear crisp and vivid, which is ideal for everyday tasks. In engineering and design, their ability to cover a wide range of colors is crucial, and both laptops offer displays that cover significant portions of professional color gamuts, ensuring accuracy when working on detailed projects. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the importance of high refresh rates means that despite their resolution and color accuracy, both models fall short due to having standard refresh rates, making them less suitable for smooth, fast-paced action.

How the LG Gram 16 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 compare to other laptops
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
"When it comes to affordably priced laptops, the numbers after the dollar sign are crucially important—more so than in any other price category. By increasing the starting price of its Laptop Go line by $200 and not changing much else, Microsoft irrevocably altered the calculus surrounding the decision of whether to buy the Surface Laptop Go 3. Sure, it has a newer processor and longer battery life, but don’t think for a second you’re not paying dearly for that extra RAM and SSD capacity at that new price."
