For demanding tasks like 3D modeling, engineering software, or gaming, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 would be superior due to its higher-end graphics card. However, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 is typically less expensive and offers a high-quality OLED screen, which is superior for color work and media consumption. The ThinkPad also has a larger screen and longer battery life but is slightly heavier. Both come with touchscreen capabilities and premium build quality, but the Surface Laptop has a faster refresh rate, which could be preferable for fast-paced applications or gaming. Choose the ThinkPad Z16 for a balance of cost and high-resolution display or the Surface Laptop Studio 2 for better performance in graphics-intensive tasks. Give Feedback

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 for general use, and engineering and design.
When considering general use, both the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 have displays that offer clear visuals and vivid colors because of their high resolutions and brightness, making them suitable for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. For engineering and design workflows where color precision is essential, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 stands out with its broader color gamut, providing more accurate color representation than the ThinkPad Z16. However, for gaming and 3D rendering, neither laptop is ideal due to their lower refresh rates, which means both may not provide as smooth an experience as laptops specifically designed for those purposes with higher refresh rate displays.

How the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 compare to other laptops
"Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z16 tries has some success in its effort to tweak the ThinkPad formula. The laptop is attractive, yet still tame, and material quality is on par with the best Windows competition. I also like the smooth, responsive haptic touchpad and the wide range of modern connectivity. Yet the Z16 doesn’t fix ThinkPad’s typical weakness: value. Starting around $1,550, and more typically near $1,700, the Z16 finds itself facing alternatives that have better performance or an improved display for the same price, or less."
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
