The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is typically more durable and has a better keyboard, which is great for heavy typing and business use, while the ThinkBook 13x is slimmer and lighter, making it a better choice if portability is a priority for you. The ThinkBook may also offer a higher resolution screen, ideal for tasks that require sharp visual detail. However, if you are on a tighter budget and need a robust laptop for everyday tasks and some level of performance requirement without the need for the thinnest design, the ThinkPad X13 may be the better overall value. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is good.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 offers a superior CPU and more RAM, which provides faster performance for multitasking and demanding applications, along with a high-quality screen and more robust battery life, making it very well-suited for varied general use; on the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, while also delivering acceptable performance for everyday tasks, prioritizes a lighter design for portability, potentially at the cost of somewhat reduced processing power and shorter battery life. Both units come with quality keyboards and adequate storage, but the ThinkPad often has an edge in managing operating noise and heat, which can be a consideration for extensive use scenarios.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x for software development, while the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use and engineering tasks, both the ThinkPad X13 and ThinkBook 13x have panels with high resolution and brightness, making text sharp and viewing comfortable, with the ThinkBook offering slightly better color coverage, essential for precision in design work. Neither is ideal for gaming or 3D due to their standard refresh rates, which can limit smoothness in fast-paced visuals, although their resolution and panel types provide decent clarity and viewing angles for less-demanding graphics work. The ThinkBook stands out for design professionals with its superior color range, catering to those needing accuracy for visual work.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 and Lenovo ThinkBook 13x are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 and the ThinkBook 13x both have integrated GPUs that handle basic gaming and 3D tasks adequately but aren't designed for high-end gaming performance where dedicated graphics cards are essential. While they may offer decent screen quality for daily use, their screen refresh rates are not as high as gaming-specific laptops, which means they aren't ideal for fast-paced games or professional 3D work that depend on smoother visuals.

How the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 G4 has very good input devices, a wide array of security features and ports as well as 5G in the tested configuration. It is more compact and lightweight compared with its predecessor, and it has improved speakers and a slightly better webcam. On the other hand, the fan is more annoying and the performance is barely improved. The battery is worse as well, but this is primarily attributable to the OLED screen - if this aspect is important, buyers should choose the IPS Low Power LCD."
