If you prioritize battery life and a high-resolution screen for tasks like photo editing or detailed engineering work, the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 will serve you well but it's heavier which makes it less portable. In contrast, the MSI Stealth GS66 is lighter, making it more portable, and has a much higher screen refresh rate which is ideal for gaming or fast-paced video editing, though its battery life is shorter. The MSI also has superior graphics performance, which is beneficial for 3D rendering or machine learning applications, but expect to pay more for these advanced features. Both laptops are suitable for intensive gaming and have a premium build quality, so your decision should hinge on whether you prefer portability and gaming performance or longer battery life and a more detailed display. The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 has a better screen than the MSI Stealth GS66 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the MSI Stealth GS66 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 likely offers a high-resolution display with robust color accuracy, which is essential for engineering and design due to the importance of detail and color precision in those fields. However, its poorer screen quality for gaming and 3D might be due to a lower refresh rate, making it less ideal for the fluid motion required in gaming. The MSI Stealth GS66, with good screen quality across general use and design, may have slightly less color fidelity or brightness compared to the Lenovo, while still falling short for gaming due to a similar lack in refresh rate.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 offers a high-resolution display and superior keyboard quality, making it reliable for general use, however, its heavy weight affects its portability, and it has a modest battery life. Conversely, the MSI Stealth GS66 provides better portability due to its lighter weight and compact form, coupled with a long battery life, but its lower resolution screen might not suit those who prioritize screen quality for their general computing tasks.

How the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"It's only a few months since we gave the MSI CreatorPro X17 one of our rare 4.5-star ratings and our top mobile workstation honor, but the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 matches that achievement in a more premium overall build. Ultimately, its build quality, screen, and keyboard give our latest Editors' Choice nod to the Lenovo—it's enough of a monster on almost all fronts that it simply cannot be ignored."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
