The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 is a better choice for general use and mixed tasks like light gaming and productivity, offering a balance of portability and battery life, with a brighter, higher resolution touchscreen display and ample storage. However, if your priority is gaming or 3D modeling, the MSI GF65 Thin, with a more powerful graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate, better suits those needs, but at the expense of screen quality and battery life. Both laptops are similarly priced and have mid-range specifications, but the tradeoff is between the Lenovo's versatility and portability versus the MSI's stronger gaming and 3D performance. How the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 and the MSI GF65 Thin compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 is an attractive, portable laptop that’s ideal if you need a combination of CPU and GPU performance. It also nails the fundamentals with solid connectivity, an enjoyable keyboard, a large touchpad, and top-notch webcam. Display quality is a weakness, but it’s an acceptable compromise for the laptop’s extremely competitive $1,199 MSRP. The Slim Pro 7 is a versatile, affordable laptop and hard to beat for the price."
"The MSI GF65 Thin offers a GeForce RTX 3060 on a budget. The MSI GF65 is a relatively inexpensive RTX 3060 laptop and, perhaps not coincidentally, it also comes with a slower-than-average RTX 3060 GPU. Other laptops we've tested thus far with the same GPU are about 10 to 15 percent faster. CPU performance is also slightly slower than average unless if users decide to enable Cooler Boost mode. Colors, black-white response times, Thunderbolt, and DisplayPort are either average or completely omitted. Gamers who want to maximize performance-per-dollar without sacrificing RAM or SSD upgradeability will find the lightweight MSI GF65 attractive."
