The Lenovo Slim 7 16 offers a dedicated Nvidia graphics card and a higher refresh rate screen, making it better suited for intensive tasks such as 3D rendering and gaming. Its larger screen and color coverage could benefit creative work as well, but it is heavier and thus less portable compared to the ThinkBook 13s. The Lenovo ThinkBook 13s, on the other hand, is lighter and offers solid performance for general use with good battery life and portability. It doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, so it's not ideal for gaming or highly demanding graphics tasks. Both laptops are similarly priced and have touchscreen capabilities with high-resolution displays, but the choice ultimately comes down to whether you need a more powerful laptop for specialized tasks or a more portable one for everyday usage. The Lenovo ThinkBook 13s and Lenovo Slim 7 16 are both good for general use.
The Lenovo Slim 7 16 is well-suited for general use due to its powerful AMD Ryzen CPU and ample RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and fast performance, along with a high-quality IPS display providing crisp visuals and a large screen for comfortable viewing, but it is less portable and has a shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s, which is also equipped for general use with a strong Intel i7 CPU, RAM capacity for effortless multitasking, and a highly portable design featuring a lighter weight and longer battery life that enhances its utility for on-the-go users. The ThinkBook's IPS display provides slightly better color accuracy and sharpness, albeit on a smaller screen, making it a balance between mobility and screen quality.

The Lenovo Slim 7 16 and Lenovo ThinkBook 13s are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo Slim 7 16's suitability for gaming and 3D comes from its Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and a screen refresh rate of 165 Hz, which are ideal for these purposes, whereas the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s has an integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU and a lower refresh rate of 60 Hz, making it less optimal for such tasks despite having a high-quality screen and a capable CPU.

How the Lenovo Slim 7 16 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s compare to other laptops
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
"The best thing about the ThinkBook 13S is that it’s a good deal. Business buyers looking for ThinkPad-level performance and software without ThinkPad pricing will probably find the ThinkBook a solid option. While nothing about it is really spectacular, it’s certainly unusual to see the ThinkBook’s screen resolution at a sub-$1,000 price, and its performance will be more than adequate for most office tasks. The generous port selection, 16:10 aspect ratio, physical webcam shutter, and clear audio are certainly icing on the cake."
