The Lenovo Slim 7 16 offers a larger screen with higher resolution and refresh rate, making it excellent for detailed visual work and smoother motion content. It's equipped with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, which provides better performance for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks compared to the integrated Intel Arc in the Surface Laptop. The Lenovo also has a more versatile port selection with USB-C and Thunderbolt support, and it's generally less expensive. However, it's heavier and less compact, which could be a drawback if you prioritize portability. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" is more portable due to its smaller size and lower weight, making it ideal for on-the-go use. It boasts a high-quality build and a superior touchscreen experience with its pen support. The Surface Laptop also has a very good keyboard and webcam, which are beneficial for productivity and video conferencing. Its battery life is slightly shorter than the Lenovo's, but it's still decent for general use. The Surface Laptop's performance is solid for everyday tasks, but it may not handle intensive engineering tasks or high-end gaming as well as the Lenovo. In summary, choose the Lenovo Slim 7 16 for better performance in graphics-intensive tasks and a larger, higher-quality display at a lower price point. Opt for the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" if you value portability, premium build quality, and a superior touchscreen experience, and you're willing to pay a premium for these features. PCMag

Eric Grevstad | March 2022
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
