The Lenovo Slim 7 16 is usually more expensive and offers better performance due to a more powerful processor and graphics card, making it suitable for intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering work. It also has a larger, high-resolution screen with touchscreen capability, which might be a plus for some tasks. However, it's less portable than the MSI Modern 14, which is lighter and smaller. The MSI Modern 14 is less expensive and adequate for general use, but its lower specs mean it may not be suitable for more demanding tasks. Both have similar storage and RAM capacity. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Slim 7 16 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Lenovo Slim 7 16 offers a display with high resolution and brightness, making it suitable for general use and tasks that require precise color representation such as engineering and design due to its wide color gamuts. However, its refresh rate is lower, which is less ideal for gaming and 3D applications where a higher refresh rate is key for smooth motion. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14 provides an adequate screen for daily tasks and engineering work with its fair resolution and color accuracy but falls short in gaming and 3D performance because of its modest refresh rate and panel quality.

How the Lenovo Slim 7 16 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
