For a balance of performance and portability with a focus on gaming and creative tasks, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a strong choice with its powerful AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia RTX GPU, though it's pricier and has a larger footprint. Its high refresh rate screen is ideal for fast-paced gaming, and it offers superior performance in 3D rendering and machine learning. However, its battery life is shorter compared to the Surface Laptop. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 is more affordable, lighter, and offers longer battery life, making it excellent for general use and productivity on the go. Its touchscreen and 3:2 aspect ratio are great for note-taking and document work. While it has a capable Intel Core Ultra processor and Intel Arc GPU, it falls short in intensive tasks like gaming and engineering compared to the Legion. It also has fewer ports, which could be a limitation if you need to connect multiple devices simultaneously. Consider the Legion for its superior performance in demanding applications and gaming, but if you prioritize battery life, portability, and a more business-oriented feature set, the Surface Laptop would be the better option. NotebookCheck

Benjamin Herzig | November 2022
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
