If you prioritize portability and longer battery life for general use, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 offers a more manageable weight and longer usage between charges at a lower price. The MSI Stealth GS66, despite having a shorter battery life and being slightly heavier, delivers better performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, and comes with a higher refresh rate display, which is advantageous for gaming and fast-motion visuals, though this is reflected in a higher price tag. Both have sufficient power for common tasks and gaming, though MSI’s advantage is pronounced in performance-intensive scenarios. Give Feedback

When choosing a laptop for general use, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 and the MSI Stealth GS66 both offer displays with good resolution and brightness, ensuring a clear and vibrant viewing experience for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. For engineering and design professionals, both laptops provide a wide color gamut, ensuring that the colors rendered on the screen are accurate and consistent, which is critical for tasks that require precise color work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, neither laptop excels due to their lower refresh rates, which can make fast-paced action appear less smooth, impacting the overall visual fluidity and responsiveness crucial for an immersive gaming experience.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers MSI Stealth GS66 to be very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is good.
The MSI Stealth GS66 is favored for engineering and design use due to a more powerful Intel i7-12700H CPU and Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU, compared to the Lenovo Legion Slim 7's AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060. While the Lenovo offers slightly longer battery life and lower operating noise, its lower screen brightness could be a drawback for design work, which the MSI compensates with a superior GPU, albeit at the cost of heavier weight and increased noise.

How the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
