If you prioritize a balance between performance and portability, the Lenovo Legion Slim might be ideal as it usually offers good performance packed in a lighter and slimmer form, making it easier to carry around. However, if you don't mind adding a little extra weight for a potentially better gaming or heavy-duty computing experience, the MSI Katana, with its larger screen, may provide an enhanced visual experience and possibly greater power that's often preferred for intense gaming or resource-heavy tasks. Just be aware that with the larger screen and possibly more powerful components, the MSI might also have a shorter battery life compared to the lighter Lenovo. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen than the MSI Katana 17 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, a laptop with a balance between resolution, panel type, and brightness, like the Lenovo Legion Slim 7, provides a clear and vivid display which is easy on the eyes for everyday tasks. However, for engineering and design work, accurate color reproduction is critical, and the Lenovo's superior color gamut coverage ensures that the colors you see on the screen are precise and consistent, making it more suitable for these professions. On the other hand, the fast-paced visuals of gaming and 3D applications demand a high refresh rate to avoid motion blur and provide smoother animations; both the Lenovo and the MSI Katana may fall short in this aspect, resulting in less fluid movements during gameplay.

How the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" and the MSI Katana 17 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
"The MSI Katana 17 B13V laptop impressed us in its main area of competency - gaming. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 ensures high-performance levels which can compete with the previous generation's RTX 3070 Ti. In addition to the speedy GPU, the MSI comes with a 144 Hz display as well as an RGB keyboard and provides a very good typing experience. Despite the power at hand, the laptop remains comparatively cool."
