If you prioritize performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or intensive engineering software, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 with a more powerful processor and GPU is suitable. However, this comes at a higher cost and can be less portable. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 offers significant value for mid-range price, with good capabilities for general use and gaming, and boasts a higher refresh rate screen which makes for smoother visuals. The Lenovo is also lighter, but both are fairly close in terms of portability. If budget is a concern and you need a laptop that balances performance and cost effectively, the Lenovo could serve well, especially for gaming, whereas the Microsoft is a more premium option with a touchscreen and better overall performance, suited for professional and creative work. How the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
