The Lenovo Legion 7i Pro is a heavyweight powerhouse suited for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks with its high-performance processor and advanced graphics. It's a gaming laptop in appearance, which might not be ideal for a business setting but excellent for gaming or demanding computational tasks. However, its portability is less due to its larger size and weight. Conversely, the MSI Modern 14 is lighter and more portable, making it a better choice for general use and mobility, with satisfactory performance for everyday tasks at a budget-friendly price. The Legion 7i Pro has a better display and longer battery life but costs significantly more and is not as easy to carry around. If you prioritize performance and display quality over cost and portability, the Legion 7i Pro is the preferred option; if you value portability and affordability for general use without high-end gaming or professional application requirements, the MSI Modern 14 will suffice. The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is very good for general use, while the MSI Modern 14 is good.
The Lenovo Legion 7i Pro, with a high-performance CPU, larger RAM capacity, and superior screen quality, excels for general use by offering smooth multitasking and vivid visual experiences, albeit with less portability due to its size and lesser battery life compared to lighter laptops. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14, while providing adequate CPU power and RAM for typical tasks, emphasizes portability and longer battery life, making it suitable for users needing mobility despite possible tradeoffs in screen refresh rates and overall power.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is excellent for engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, with its higher-performing CPU, more RAM, and superior GPU, excels in demanding tasks like engineering and design software, also offering a better screen for detailed visuals; although heavier and bulkier, which affects portability, this tradeoff is essential for such powerful hardware. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14 is lighter and more portable with a decent keyboard and quieter operation, but its less powerful components and moderate screen quality mean it can't handle intensive engineering tasks as effectively.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i features a display that offers vibrant colors and sharp images due to its high resolution and bright screen, making it ideal for general use and professional engineering and design tasks which require accurate color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, its lower refresh rate means it doesn't provide as fluid a motion as dedicated gaming laptops. The MSI Modern 14 has a decent resolution and acceptable brightness which is adequate for general use and some level of design work, but its color range and refresh rate fall short for color-critical tasks and fast-paced 3D gaming experiences.

"Passionate gamers who want to play demanding modern titles with maximum details and don't mind spending the moolah will find the Lenovo Legion 7 Pro to be the right choice. The bright, sharp, and color-accurate 16:10 QHD 240 Hz display makes for an immersive viewing experience. The hardware is housed in a stylish chassis that feels premium and scores well in terms of workmanship and stability. Other aspects such as sound quality, input devices, and connectivity also seem to be near-perfect."

"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
