Between the Lenovo Legion 5 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2, consider the Legion 5 if you're looking for something more budget-friendly. It still provides solid performance for general use and gaming due to similar graphics capabilities. If you need a higher-resolution screen for creative tasks or appreciate the flexibility of a 2-in-1 design that can be used as a tablet, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is more suitable, albeit at a higher cost. Keep in mind the Surface has a three by two screen ratio which is better for productivity tasks but might not be optimal for some media consumption. Additionally, the Surface offers a more premium build and a higher-quality display. In contrast, the Legion 5 has a design more geared towards gaming. The choice depends on whether you prioritize performance and value or versatility, screen quality, and premium build. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 for gaming and AI, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 has a better screen for engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 offer screens with high resolution and brightness, providing clear and vibrant displays for everyday tasks. In engineering and design work, Surface Laptop Studio 2's broader color gamuts ensure more precise color representation, a crucial factor for professionals. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short due to lower refresh rates, meaning they won't deliver as smooth an experience as other laptops specifically designed for these purposes.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 and Lenovo Legion 5 15" are both very good for engineering and design.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor and a solid Nvidia RTX graphics card, which along with its 16GB of RAM and high-quality 15.6-inch display make it powerful for engineering tasks, but it's heavier and has a gamer-oriented design that some might find less sleek. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 offers a similar Nvidia RTX graphics card and an even more advanced Intel i7 processor, with a significant increase in RAM at 64GB, and features a smaller, extremely high-resolution touchscreen that can double as a drawing tablet, making it highly versatile for design work while also being lighter and more portable.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
