The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is better suited for performance-intensive tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering software due to its more powerful processor and graphics card. However, it is heavier and less portable than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 which makes it less ideal for on-the-go use. The Surface Laptop Go 3 offers greater portability and longer battery life, making it a good choice for general use and productivity tasks. Additionally, while the Legion may cost more, it provides increased storage and RAM, which may better suit your needs if you require more resources for demanding applications. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 both have displays that offer clear and vibrant visuals suitable for everyday tasks and professional design work, thanks to their adequate resolution, brightness, and color reproduction. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is crucial, their screens fall short because they lack high refresh rates, which are essential for fluid and responsive movement. While both laptops can handle general use and engineering well, their less-than-ideal refresh rates mean they wouldn't be the first choice for someone whose primary focus is gaming or working with fast-paced 3D graphics.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"When it comes to affordably priced laptops, the numbers after the dollar sign are crucially important—more so than in any other price category. By increasing the starting price of its Laptop Go line by $200 and not changing much else, Microsoft irrevocably altered the calculus surrounding the decision of whether to buy the Surface Laptop Go 3. Sure, it has a newer processor and longer battery life, but don’t think for a second you’re not paying dearly for that extra RAM and SSD capacity at that new price."
