When choosing between the Lenovo Legion 5 and ThinkPad X13, consider that the Legion is tailored for gaming and demanding tasks with superior graphics and processing power but is heavier, which affects portability. The ThinkPad X13, while typically more expensive, offers greater mobility, a more professional design, and robust build quality, making it suitable for business users who prioritize battery life and portability over raw performance. If your primary focus is on gaming or high-performance tasks and you can manage a bulkier laptop, the Legion is a good fit; otherwise, for frequent travel and business applications, the X13 is advantageous. The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" excels in gaming and 3D applications due to its superior GPU and higher screen refresh rate, which are crucial for smooth and visually detailed performance in these areas. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13, while having a competent CPU and good screen quality, falls short for gaming and 3D tasks because its GPU and screen refresh rate aren't as high-end as the Legion's, making it less suitable for those demanding activities.

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the ThinkPad X13 offer screens with sufficient resolution and brightness, providing comfortable viewing experiences for everyday tasks like browsing or watching videos. When it comes to engineering and design, these laptops handle accurate colors well, essential for tasks that demand precise hues and shades, but they may not cover the full range of professional color gamuts completely. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is crucial, the lower refresh rates on these laptops make them less ideal, as they can't render fast-moving images as fluidly as models with higher refresh rates designed specifically for those purposes.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 G4 has very good input devices, a wide array of security features and ports as well as 5G in the tested configuration. It is more compact and lightweight compared with its predecessor, and it has improved speakers and a slightly better webcam. On the other hand, the fan is more annoying and the performance is barely improved. The battery is worse as well, but this is primarily attributable to the OLED screen - if this aspect is important, buyers should choose the IPS Low Power LCD."
