For a balance of performance and portability with a focus on gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" is a strong choice. It offers a more powerful GPU and a higher resolution, 1440p display with better color accuracy and a faster refresh rate, which is great for detailed visual work and smoother gameplay. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, which might not be ideal if you need to work on the go for extended periods.
On the other hand, the Lenovo LOQ 16i is more budget-friendly and notably lighter with a larger 16-inch screen, making it a better option for general use and productivity with its higher screen aspect ratio of 16:10. It also has a longer battery life, which enhances its portability. Despite having a less powerful GPU and a lower resolution screen compared to the Legion 5, it still handles general tasks and light gaming well. The LOQ 16i's build quality is also commendable for its price point.
Ultimately, if you prioritize performance for gaming and demanding applications and don't mind a heavier, less portable laptop, the Legion 5 is the way to go. If you value a larger screen, longer battery life, and a more portable design for everyday tasks, the LOQ 16i would be a better fit. Give Feedback

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Lenovo LOQ 16i compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"Gaming laptops with an RTX 4060 are available starting from about 1,000 Euros (~$1,060), even in 16-inch format. For the supposedly affordable Lenovo LOQ 16 (1,500 Euros, ~$1,591), the manufacturer particularly saves in the equipment and materials compared to the more expensive Legion series. In addition, the LOQ is slightly heavier and more bulky. What remains is anything but a laptop full of difficult compromises. Instead, this is a more than solid gaming laptop that focusses on the 3D performance.Q is slightly heavier and more bulky."
