The Lenovo Legion 5 offers higher performance for tasks like gaming due to a more powerful graphics card and a higher resolution display, which may come in handy for tasks requiring graphics detail, but it's heavier and thicker, reducing portability. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is more portable with its lighter and slimmer design, making it a better choice if you travel often. While the Legion Slim 7 has a less powerful graphics card and lower resolution display compared to the Legion 5, it also tends to be more expensive, but if portability and a sleek design are your priority, it may justify the higher cost. How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
