If you prioritize savings and are okay with a slightly heavier and bulkier laptop, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" offers good performance for general use and gaming at a lower price. However, if you value a slimmer design, a larger storage capacity, and a slightly better display with a higher aspect ratio, which can be beneficial for productivity tasks, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i could justify its higher cost. Both laptops provide similar gaming performance, but the Slim 5i’s advantage in design and portability could be significant if you frequently carry your laptop around. Keep in mind that both have similar battery life, so your choice will mainly depend on your budget, desired portability, and aesthetics. Give Feedback

If you prioritize a sharp and vibrant display for activities like web browsing, document editing, and video streaming, both the Lenovo Legion 5 and Legion Slim 5i will satisfy your needs with their high resolution and brightness levels. For engineering and graphic design tasks requiring color accuracy, these laptops offer decent coverage of professional color spaces, although they may not reach the top tier of color fidelity that professional designers seek. However, for gaming and 3D modeling, these laptops fall short as they don’t offer high refresh rates, which are crucial for smooth motion and fast-paced visuals that many games demand.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
