For a balance of performance and price, the Lenovo Legion 5 17" is a solid choice, offering a powerful Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics, making it suitable for engineering tasks and gaming with its high refresh rate screen. However, it's bulkier and has a shorter battery life, which affects its portability. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16, with its OLED display and higher resolution, provides exceptional color accuracy and brightness, ideal for visual tasks and media consumption. It's also more portable, has a touchscreen, and runs on the latest Windows 11. While it may be slightly pricier and not as powerful for intensive tasks like 3D rendering or gaming, its versatility as a 2-in-1 device could be a deciding factor if you value a convertible form factor and a premium display. Sebastian Bade | February 2022
"The Lenovo Legion 5 17 is a current-gen 17-inch gaming laptop and equipped with the latest AMD CPU and a powerful GPU, that manages to reach its full potential. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H is a very good choice for this laptop and able to maintain its performance level for long periods of time. Our test model only falls behind consistently in a direct comparison with its competitors that are often equipped with eight cores and 16 threads. Despite this, the Legion 5 17 leaves an excellent impression and is almost able to keep up with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU in synthetic benchmarks."
