The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro offers a balance of performance and portability at a lower midrange price, making it suitable for general use and light gaming or creative work. Its high-resolution touchscreen with excellent color coverage is great for everyday tasks and consuming media. The battery life is commendable, allowing for all-day use without constant recharging. It's also lighter and thinner, enhancing its portability for those who are always on the move. On the other hand, the MSI Raider 18 HX is a powerhouse designed for intensive tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, with a top-tier price to match. It boasts a high-performance CPU and GPU, ensuring smooth handling of demanding applications. The larger 18-inch Mini LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is ideal for fast-paced gaming and detailed visual work. However, its portability is compromised due to its size and weight, and the battery life is significantly shorter, which is typical for gaming laptops with high-performance components. In summary, if you prioritize portability, battery life, and value for money for general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is the way to go. But if you're looking for the best performance for gaming, 3D work, or machine learning and don't mind a bulkier, more power-hungry device, then the MSI Raider 18 HX is the right choice. NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | October 2021
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
