If you prioritize a higher-resolution screen and longer battery life for general usage and tasks that aren't highly demanding, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is a more cost-effective choice. On the other hand, if you require stronger graphics performance for 3D applications, machine learning, gaming, or engineering software, the MSI Katana 15 with its dedicated Nvidia RTX graphics card will perform better, albeit at a higher cost and heavier weight. Keep in mind the MSI might also have a louder cooling system to support that performance, which could be a distraction in quiet environments. Give Feedback

The MSI Katana 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is only fair.
The MSI Katana 15 offers a more fluid gaming experience due to its higher screen refresh rate and is equipped with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU which is superior for gaming and 3D work compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro's integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. While the Lenovo may have a higher screen resolution, the MSI's GPU and refresh rate are more impactful for gaming performance.

The MSI Katana 15 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro are both good for engineering and design, though the MSI Katana 15 is somewhat better.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is suitable for engineering and design due to its high-resolution screen enhancing visual detail, alongside solid CPU and RAM for multitasking, although its integrated GPU may limit graphic-intensive tasks when compared to dedicated options. The MSI Katana 15, with its more powerful dedicated GPU, is also good for these fields, providing superior graphic processing capabilities necessary for design software, but trades off with a lower resolution display which may affect the crispness of on-screen content.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro has a better screen than the MSI Katana 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, with its higher resolution and brighter screen, offers clearer and more vibrant visuals ideal for both general use and detailed engineering or design work, which benefit from rich color representation. Conversely, for gaming and 3D tasks, its lower refresh rate may not provide as smooth an experience as dedicated gaming laptops. The MSI Katana 15, while offering a decent all-round visual experience, doesn't shine in any particular area; it has adequate brightness and resolution for average users but lacks the high color accuracy and refresh rates desired for specialized engineering, design, and gaming needs.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro and the MSI Katana 15 compare to other laptops
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
