Choose the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro if you value portability, lower cost, and sufficient performance for general use with a high-resolution screen. The Lenovo Legion 7, while pricier and heavier, is better suited for gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks due to its powerful graphics card and higher refresh rate screen. Its larger battery also suggests it may have better battery life. If top-notch performance for demanding tasks is crucial and you don't mind less portability, the Legion 7 is the better choice. The Lenovo Legion 7 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is good.
The Lenovo Legion 7 offers a more powerful CPU, GPU, and additional RAM which are crucial for demanding engineering tasks and running complex design software smoothly, while its screen also provides excellent quality for precise visual work. In contrast, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, being slimmer and lighter, has an edge in portability for on-the-go usage, though it may have a lower-grade CPU, GPU, and less RAM, still ensuring decent screen quality but possibly at the expense of peak performance in intensive applications.

The Lenovo Legion 7 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro for general use, gaming and AI, content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro has a high-resolution display, which along with its brightness and panel type, provides sharp, vibrant visuals for general use and detail-oriented tasks like engineering and design work, where accurate color representation is key. However, its lower refresh rate limits its performance in gaming and 3D applications where smoother motion is needed. The Lenovo Legion 7 also offers a crisp, bright display suitable for everyday tasks and professional design work with accurate color coverage, but similar to the IdeaPad, its gaming and 3D capabilities are hindered by its refresh rate.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro and the Lenovo Legion 7 compare to other laptops
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
"The Lenovo Legion 7 is a fast 16-inch gamer with 165 Hz display. The new Lenovo Legion 7 is a very good gaming notebook that, despite its comparatively compact compact 16-inch case, does not have to do without the most powerful components. Thanks to good cooling, no compromises are made in terms of performance. Both the Core i9-12900HX and the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti perform at a very high level."
