The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a budget-friendly option with decent battery life, making it a practical choice for everyday tasks such as web browsing and office work. It's quite portable, but has moderate performance, which may not be suitable for more demanding applications. On the other hand, the Razer Blade 18 comes at a premium price, offering high performance suitable for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks; however, it is less portable and has lower battery life. If you prioritize performance for high-end tasks and are willing to invest more, the Razer Blade 18 is suitable, whereas for casual use and better portability with a lower cost, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is suitable. The Razer Blade 18 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is good.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has modest specifications with an AMD Ryzen 3 processor and 8GB of RAM, making it suitable for basic tasks, while the Razer Blade 18 packs a more powerful Intel i9 processor and 32GB of RAM, better suited for demanding applications. The IdeaPad offers portability with a lighter frame and longer battery life but has a lower-resolution screen than the Razer Blade, which though less portable due to its weight, offers superior screen quality and overall performance for a variety of uses, including more intensive tasks.

The Razer Blade 18 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offers an adequate display with respectable resolution and brightness, but it may lack the crispness and vibrancy seen on higher-end models, whereas the Razer Blade 18 provides a sharp, bright display, enhancing user experience for everyday tasks. In engineering and design, the Razer Blade 18 stands out with its wider color gamut, which ensures more accurate color representation vital for professional design work, but the IdeaPad Slim 3's narrower color gamut may result in less precise color output. On the other hand, for gaming and 3D applications where high refresh rates contribute to smoother visuals and better responsiveness, neither laptop's poor refresh rate makes them ideal choices; something to keep in mind if fast-paced or visually intensive tasks are a priority.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"Razer made a powerful laptop in the Blade 18, showing off a beautiful and fast display and the same high-quality build we’ve come to expect from this product line. It’s also quite expensive, which is hardly a surprise, but bears repeating even in this price range. It’s pricier than the Scar 18 despite an inferior GPU and half the storage, so you really have to want the Blade 18’s design to justify the cost."
