Consider the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 if you're seeking a more budget-friendly option with decent performance for general use, a longer battery life, and a lighter design for better portability. It has a good working processor, moderate RAM, and ample storage for everyday tasks. However, if high-performance computing is a priority, and you're involved in 3D rendering, machine learning, engineering, or intensive gaming, and are willing to pay a premium, the Razer Blade 17 with its superior processor, significantly greater storage and RAM, and a powerful dedicated GPU could be ideal. Bear in mind, the Razer Blade is heavier and has a shorter battery life, affecting its portability. Give Feedback

The Razer Blade 17 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is good.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is fair for general use as it has moderate specs like an AMD Ryzen 3 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 1080p screen, making it suitable for basic tasks but it may struggle with more demanding applications, and its battery life allows for average use before recharging. In contrast, the Razer Blade 17 boasts superior attributes such as a high-end Intel i9 CPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 4K screen, enhancing not only multitasking abilities and complex software operation but also delivering a crisp, detailed visual experience, though its heavier build and shorter battery life suggest a trade-off in portability and uninterrupted use time.

The Razer Blade 17 is excellent for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, with its mid-range CPU and GPU, smaller RAM, and standard screen quality, is fair for engineering and design because it provides adequate performance for less intensive tasks but may struggle with complex projects. On the other hand, the Razer Blade 17, equipped with a high-end CPU, powerful GPU, ample RAM, and superior screen quality, is excellent for those uses, offering robust performance and detailed visuals at the expense of being less portable due to its larger size and weight.

The Razer Blade 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop with average screen resolution and brightness, like the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, is often sufficient, but the Razer Blade 17's higher resolution and better brightness offer a clearer and more vibrant viewing experience. When it comes to engineering and design, the color accuracy provided by a wide color gamut becomes crucial; the Lenovo's fair screen may fall short, while the Razer, with better coverage of color spaces like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, is more suitable for professional color work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, a high refresh rate is key to smooth visuals; despite their good resolution and color, both the Lenovo and the Razer could disappoint in this regard if they don't offer high refresh rates.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"Our test configuration of the Blade 17 targets gamers and creative professionals. A Core i9-12900H processor, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP after the BIOS update, 16 GB of VRAM), and 32 GB of working memory equip the laptop for video processing, rending, and 4k gaming at the highest level. In addition, a fast PCIe-4 SSD (1 TB) ensures short load and storage times. With the Blade 17 (Early 2022), Razer delivers a successful and powerful work device for creative professionals. But this also has its price."
