The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a less expensive option that offers decent general performance with adequate storage and memory for everyday tasks like web browsing, office applications, and media consumption. However, if you require higher performance for intensive engineering tasks, 3D work, machine learning, or gaming, the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo comes with a stronger processor, more memory, and better graphics capabilities, but at a significantly higher price. The MSI also features a high-quality display suitable for creative work. On the other hand, the Lenovo is lighter, which makes it more portable, but it may not be as suitable for demanding applications. Give Feedback

The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is poor.
The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo outperforms the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 in gaming and 3D tasks primarily due to its more powerful Intel Arc graphics compared to the integrated Vega 6 graphics in the Lenovo, and it also has a higher color accuracy, which is better for visual fidelity in games and 3D design. Additionally, while both have the same screen refresh rate, the MSI's superior OLED display with higher resolution and screen quality enhances the overall gaming and 3D experience.

The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only fair.
The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo outranks the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for engineering and design work mainly due to its more powerful Intel CPU and higher-capacity dedicated GPU, substantially more RAM, and a high-resolution OLED screen, which delivers superior color accuracy and contrast, factors crucial for design tasks. While the IdeaPad Slim 3 provides fair performance with its AMD processor and integrated graphics, and decent screen quality, it falls short in RAM and CPU capability compared to the Prestige 16 AI Evo, making the latter a better choice for demanding engineering software and intricate design work.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo is meant to be a business-focused laptop, but it ends up being the MacBook challenger PC laptop enthusiasts have longed for. Not only can it meet and, in many cases, surpass the M2-powered MacBooks, but it is also surpassing the baseline M3 MacBooks, which is a giant leap forward for Intel-powered laptops. This isn’t hyperbole; this is what the numbers show."
