The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, being significantly less expensive and having a longer battery life, is better suited for general use, such as web browsing, document editing, and light multitasking. It offers a number pad and a touchscreen, which might be convenient for some users. The MSI GF65 Thin, while more expensive, provides superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, thanks to its more powerful CPU and RTX 3060 GPU with features like hardware ray tracing and DLSS, useful for gaming and intensive graphical work. It has a higher screen refresh rate, which is great for fast motion, but it compromises on battery life. If portability is crucial, both laptops are similar in size and weight, with the Lenovo being slightly lighter and more portable. Consider the Lenovo for cost efficiency and everyday tasks, or the MSI for more demanding applications and gaming. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a better screen than the MSI GF65 Thin for software development, and content creation, while the MSI GF65 Thin has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and the MSI GF65 Thin have adequate resolution and brightness, and their panel types provide satisfactory viewing for everyday tasks such as browsing and video streaming. However, professionals in engineering and design may find the color accuracy lacking as neither laptop covers a wide spectrum of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts, which are crucial for precision in color-critical work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, while both laptops may handle lower-end games, their lower refresh rates can lead to less smooth visuals, which is a disadvantage for fast-paced gaming or fluid 3D rendering.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and the MSI GF65 Thin compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"The MSI GF65 Thin offers a GeForce RTX 3060 on a budget. The MSI GF65 is a relatively inexpensive RTX 3060 laptop and, perhaps not coincidentally, it also comes with a slower-than-average RTX 3060 GPU. Other laptops we've tested thus far with the same GPU are about 10 to 15 percent faster. CPU performance is also slightly slower than average unless if users decide to enable Cooler Boost mode. Colors, black-white response times, Thunderbolt, and DisplayPort are either average or completely omitted. Gamers who want to maximize performance-per-dollar without sacrificing RAM or SSD upgradeability will find the lightweight MSI GF65 attractive."
