If you prioritize affordability and basic tasks like web browsing and document editing, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 may be a suitable choice. However, if your work involves more demanding applications, such as video editing or 3D design, and you value a higher-quality build and touchscreen flexibility, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 would be a better fit, albeit at a higher cost. The Surface also offers stronger performance and a more premium experience, but the Lenovo may offer longer battery life and is easier to carry around due to its lighter weight. Choose the Lenovo for economical, everyday use, or the Microsoft for premium features and higher performance demands. Give Feedback

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a display that provides adequate clarity and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, making it suitable for general use, but it may lack the wide color gamut needed for precise engineering and design work. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 boasts a higher resolution and better color accuracy, which benefits professionals in engineering and design by offering more precise color representation. However, both laptops offer displays with lower refresh rates, which are not ideal for smooth rendering in fast-paced gaming and 3D applications where high refresh rates are critical for optimal experience.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
