The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is budget-friendly, lighter on the wallet, and offers a relatively large screen, making it suitable for general use cases like web browsing, office applications, and media consumption. However, its performance may not be sufficient for demanding tasks like intensive engineering, 3D modeling, or gaming, where the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio would excel due to its more powerful processor and advanced graphics. The Surface Laptop Studio also has a better screen with higher resolution and refresh rate suitable for creative professionals but is less portable and comes at a higher price point. Both laptops offer touchscreens and similar storage capacity, but if long-lasting battery and portability are priorities, you might lean towards the IdeaPad Slim 3. Give Feedback

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3's screen may not have the high resolution or the panel type that provides the vivid detail and color accuracy preferred for general tasks and professional engineering or design work, leading to a fair evaluation in those areas. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio, on the other hand, boasts a superior screen with excellent resolution and color coverage, ensuring that both text is crisp and designs are accurately represented, making it very suitable for general use and professional work in design and engineering. For gaming and 3D applications, however, both laptops do not offer the high refresh rates required for smooth motion, rendering them less ideal for these specific demands despite having good resolution and panel types.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"There’s no doubt that the Surface Laptop Studio is groundbreaking. We’ve come to expect such things from the Surface lineup, so it’s always nice to see a product that exceeds our expectations. The pull-forward laptop-screen concept has been tried before, but never in a device that’s so stylish and packed with innovative features like a haptic touchpad and robust digital stylus support."
