The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a budget-friendly option that offers good general use performance and a larger 15.6-inch screen, convenient for multitasking and watching videos. However, if your work involves engineering applications or you need a bit more power for tasks like photo editing or light gaming, the Lenovo Yoga 6 might be a better fit, with its more robust processor and slightly superior graphics capabilities. The Yoga 6 also provides longer battery life and a more portable design, along with a higher screen resolution and a touchscreen. Yet, these added benefits come at a higher cost. The IdeaPad Slim 3 will save you money, but if you can invest more for increased performance, the Yoga 6 is worth considering. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Yoga 6 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 are both good for general use, though the Lenovo Yoga 6 is somewhat better.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, with a less powerful CPU and less RAM, offers fair general use capabilities and an average battery life, which may slow you down with multiple applications open or during long work sessions away from power outlets. In contrast, the Lenovo Yoga 6 has a more capable CPU and double the RAM for better multitasking, a higher resolution touchscreen with more color accuracy for a clearer display, superior battery life, and its 2-in-1 convertible design enhances its portability and versatility for various use scenarios.

The Lenovo Yoga 6 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only fair.
The Lenovo Yoga 6 outperforms the IdeaPad Slim 3 in engineering and design tasks primarily due to its superior processor (AMD Ryzen 7 vs. Ryzen 3), double the RAM, and a better quality GPU, which together provide much smoother performance with demanding software. Although the IdeaPad Slim 3 is lighter and slightly more portable, its lower-tier CPU, less RAM, and basic GPU make it less suitable for intensive tasks, despite having a marginally brighter screen, which is less crucial for performance.

The Lenovo Yoga 6 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 provides an adequate display for tasks like web browsing and document editing, but its limited color range and average resolution might not be ideal for engineering and design work that requires precise color reproduction. The Lenovo Yoga 6 improves on this with better color accuracy, making it more suitable for professionals in design who rely on more exact color representation, but it still falls short for gaming or 3D rendering due to a standard refresh rate. Neither laptop is optimized for gaming or high-end 3D work because they lack high refresh rates necessary for smooth motion rendering and advanced graphics tasks.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and the Lenovo Yoga 6 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"The AMD R7-7730U in the Lenovo Yoga 6 13 provides a suitable answer to the limited cooling capabilities of a convertible - especially in tablet mode. It draws high computing power from a comparatively limited power supply so that less heat has to be dissipated at the same time."
