If you prioritize a budget-friendly option and lightweight design for everyday tasks such as browsing, office work, and media consumption, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 might appeal to you as it is less expensive and boasts decent battery life. However, if you require more power for resource-intensive activities like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i, with its superior processor, graphics card, and greater memory, would be the better choice, although it is costlier, bulkier, and has shorter battery life. Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."

PCMag

Mark Knapp | August 2023
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
