The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a budget-friendly option that's lighter and has a longer battery life, making it suitable for general use and portability. It has a touchscreen and ample screen for everyday tasks. However, if you need a laptop for more intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering software, the Lenovo Legion 7i Pro is the better choice due to its powerful processor, high-end graphics card, and larger RAM capacity, but it's heavier and more expensive. The Legion 7i Pro is also well-suited for intensive gaming, with a high refresh rate display that enhances fast-paced visuals. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is good.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is fair for general use as it offers moderate RAM and storage, an adequate processor for everyday tasks, a decent screen with lower brightness, and lighter weight improving portability, but its battery life is on the shorter side. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion 7i Pro is very good for general use because it boasts a high-performance CPU, substantially more RAM, and a superior screen with greater brightness and color coverage, however, it is heavier which compromises portability, and despite its larger battery, the powerful components may still limit its battery life for intense tasks.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is excellent for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i offers superior performance for engineering and design tasks due to its more powerful CPU, significantly higher RAM, and advanced GPU, which together deliver better processing power and graphic capabilities compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3. Furthermore, the Legion Pro 7i has a higher quality screen, which is crucial for design work, though it is less portable and has a louder operating noise which could be a drawback for some users.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a sharp and bright display for browsing and streaming, the Legion Pro 7i stands out with its superior resolution and brightness. For engineering and design, where true color representation matters, the Legion Pro 7i again excels because it covers a wider range of color gamuts, crucial for accurate visuals. However, for gaming and 3D applications, which demand fluid motion, neither laptop is ideal; the Legion Pro 7i, despite its better resolution and panel type, falls short due to a less-than-optimal refresh rate.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
"Passionate gamers who want to play demanding modern titles with maximum details and don't mind spending the moolah will find the Lenovo Legion 7 Pro to be the right choice. The bright, sharp, and color-accurate 16:10 QHD 240 Hz display makes for an immersive viewing experience. The hardware is housed in a stylish chassis that feels premium and scores well in terms of workmanship and stability. Other aspects such as sound quality, input devices, and connectivity also seem to be near-perfect."
