If you need a laptop with more storage out of the box and slightly better gaming capabilities, including hardware ray tracing and DLSS, the MSI Katana 15 could be the better option for you. It also has a higher refresh rate display which is beneficial for fast-paced gaming but has a lower resolution and smaller screen size compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i. The Lenovo, on the other hand, offers better battery life, a larger and higher resolution display that's better for multitasking and productivity due to its 16:10 aspect ratio. "Lenovo’s IdeaPad Pro 5i represents an impressive opening salvo for Meteor Lake in the ultraportable space against familiar foes from AMD and Apple. Not only does the Core Ultra 5 125H processor provide good performance across the board, but battery life remains a strong point against the Acer Swift Edge 16 with its AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor. It can’t quite match the endurance of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, but the gap is shrinking."

"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
