If you prioritize gaming or working with 3D graphics and machine learning applications, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is favored due to its dedicated graphics card, larger screen, and higher refresh rate, which enhances visual smoothness. However, it is heavier and has a bulkier build, reducing its portability. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is more portable and offers a touchscreen with a higher resolution in a smaller, lighter package, suitable for general use and travel convenience. It features an integrated graphics card, which is less suited for intensive graphics tasks but suitable for casual use. Choose the Lenovo if gaming and performance are critical, or the Microsoft Surface for greater portability and touch capabilities. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is good for engineering and design, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is considered good for engineering and design use because it has a more powerful CPU and GPU, which are crucial for software commonly used in these fields, and significantly greater storage capacity, whereas the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is considered fair due to its less powerful integrated graphics and lower storage capacity. Despite the Surface Laptop Go 2 being lighter and more portable with a better screen resolution, it doesn't quite match the performance capabilities of the Lenovo, which are very important for engineering and design tasks.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is one of the most powerful RTX 3050 Ti laptops. If you disregard the mediocre quality of the case in terms of the material and workmanship, Lenovo has created a successful budget gaming laptop with the IdeaPad Gaming. Thanks to high TDPs and constant performance development, the Core i5-12500H and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti are able to show their full power, while in contrast, the (mostly slower) competitors deliver a better battery life. However, hardly any of the alternative laptops are able to reach the image quality of the Gaming 3. Most of the competitors are left behind in terms of the color space and brightness."
"The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 review is a compact companion with old hardware. The Surface Laptop Go 2 shows some weaknesses. Microsoft didn't really develop the second generation of the Surface Laptop Go 2 any further but has only equipped it with a slightly more powerful Core i5 processor. However, the performance still remains at a fairly low level overall, but for many users, it definitely should still be sufficient for everyday tasks."
