If you're looking to save money and prefer a larger screen for comfortable viewing and less concern about carrying the laptop around, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" may suit your needs, but it likely won't match the MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo in performance for demanding tasks like 3D work, machine learning, or gaming. The MSI, while costing more, offers higher performance and greater portability due to its smaller size. It's also better suited for tasks that require more processing power, so if your work involves engineering or intensive computing, the MSI would be a more appropriate option. Give Feedback

The MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is good.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offers ample screen space and good enough processing power for everyday tasks, but it's less portable and has a shorter battery life compared to the MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo, which provides stronger performance and longer battery life in a more compact form, making the MSI better for demanding tasks and on-the-go use. The MSI also tends to have a higher screen quality and better heat management, which are key for intensive work sessions, although the Lenovo might offer more storage and comparable keyboard and speaker quality for routine use.

The MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo is somewhat better.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offers a larger screen size which can enhance the gaming and 3D experience, but may have a GPU and screen refresh rate that don't fully support high-end gaming requirements. The MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo, while more portable with a smaller form factor, also has limitations in its GPU and refresh rate capabilities, meaning it can handle moderate gaming but won't excel with the most demanding games and 3D applications.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3, with its modest CPU, RAM, and GPU, offers fair performance that might struggle with heavy engineering tasks, whereas the MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo's superior CPU, RAM, and GPU makes it well-suited for such demands; plus, its high-quality screen provides better clarity for design work. While the IdeaPad 3's larger size reduces portability, both laptops have decent keyboards and speakers, but the MSI runs quieter under load, an added comfort during intensive work.

"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
