On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 offers significantly higher RAM, a more powerful CPU and GPU for better performance, a higher-resolution touch screen with better color coverage, and a more portable design with flexibility in use, though it has slightly lesser battery life.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3's large screen size is a plus, but its lower resolution and brightness compared to the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 may result in less crisp and vibrant visuals. In the realm of engineering and design, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 excels due to its superior color accuracy and wider color gamuts, which ensure more precise and life-like color representation; the Lenovo IdeaPad 3, while adequate, doesn't quite match up in this regard. When it comes to 3D tasks and gaming, both laptops fall short due to their lower refresh rates, but their screen qualities are sufficient for casual use despite not being ideal for fast-paced visuals that benefit from higher refresh rates.

"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
