If you prioritize a larger screen and longer battery life for tasks like office work or web browsing, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is a suitable choice as it offers a 17.3-inch display. However, it's heavier and less portable compared to the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2, which has a 12.4-inch display and is lighter, making it easier to carry around for everyday mobility. The Surface Laptop Go 2 also features a touchscreen, which the Lenovo does not. For intensive tasks such as 3D rendering or engineering applications, neither laptop is particularly high-powered, but the Lenovo's AMD processor with integrated graphics might provide slightly better performance than the Surface Laptop Go 2's Intel counterpart. Both laptops are in a similar price range, so your choice should be based on whether portability or screen size is more important for your daily use. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 for software development, and content creation, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has a better screen for general use.
For general use, both the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with its larger screen and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 with its smaller but high-quality display offer ample brightness, sharp images, and wide-viewing angles, which are crucial for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and video streaming. In the realm of engineering and design, while they provide displays with decent color accuracy encompassing a range of colors needed for precise work, they may lack the comprehensive color gamuts professionals often require for color-sensitive work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where a fluid visual experience is key, both laptops fall short as they have lower refresh rates compared to specialized gaming laptops, making them less suitable for fast-paced games or intensive 3D rendering that benefit from smoother motion and quicker screen updates.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a larger screen but uses an integrated Vega 7 GPU, which along with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate, makes it fair for casual gaming and basic 3D applications. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2, while more portable due to its smaller size, also employs an integrated Iris Xe GPU, and the same 60 Hz refresh rate, signifying it too is suitable for lighter gaming and 3D tasks without the prowess for high-end gaming experiences.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 review is a compact companion with old hardware. The Surface Laptop Go 2 shows some weaknesses. Microsoft didn't really develop the second generation of the Surface Laptop Go 2 any further but has only equipped it with a slightly more powerful Core i5 processor. However, the performance still remains at a fairly low level overall, but for many users, it definitely should still be sufficient for everyday tasks."
