If you prefer a larger screen and a number pad on the keyboard for comfortable data entry, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" might be suitable, but it is heavier and bulkier which compromises portability. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 offers a higher screen resolution in a more compact and lighter form, which makes it easier to carry around, and it also boasts a longer battery life for extended use on-the-go. The ThinkPad Z13 includes touch capability, a more powerful processor, and has double the memory, making it better suited for demanding tasks and productivity. However, these added features on the ThinkPad Z13 come at a higher price, so there's a tradeoff between performance and cost. If you lean towards gaming or graphic-intensive applications, neither of these models are optimized for that, as they lack dedicated graphics hardware for intensive gaming. Give Feedback

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a mid-tier CPU and GPU, and adequate RAM for light engineering tasks, but its larger screen lacks high resolution, affecting display quality. In contrast, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 offers a more powerful CPU and GPU, twice the RAM for multitasking, and a high-quality, higher-resolution display in a smaller, more portable form factor, but it might be less comfortable for long-term use due to its smaller screen size.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3's large screen with decent resolution and brightness makes it suitable for general use and comfortable for engineering and design tasks where a bigger display aids in productivity. However, its limited refresh rate makes it less ideal for Gaming and 3D applications that benefit from smoother visuals. In contrast, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 likely offers superior color accuracy important for engineering and design, but similarly falls short for gaming due to its refresh rate not catering to fast-paced graphics.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"In the premium ultraportable space, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 competes with the best of the best, and still manages to shine. The design is an impressive departure from the bland bare-metal laptop that's become so popular in recent years, and the AMD-powered system has performance that's just as impressive. It's a stark alternative to the Intel-based majority, and it stands up well enough to the impressive Apple M2 processor."
