The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with a 17-inch screen offers a larger display for enjoying videos and multitasking, but the size makes it less portable than the Lenovo ThinkPad X13, which is smaller and more travel-friendly. If you prioritize portability and build quality for frequent travel or business use, the ThinkPad X13 is the better choice despite its higher cost. However, if budget is a concern and you prefer a larger screen for activities like watching movies or working with multiple windows, the IdeaPad 3 provides that at a lower expense but with potential sacrifices in portability and premium features. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is good.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a larger screen for comfortable viewing and ample RAM for multitasking, making it well-suited for everyday activities but less portable due to its size. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13, on the other hand, is highly portable with better battery life and CPU performance, plus it offers a higher screen quality, which enhances its capability for more demanding tasks, though it may have less storage capacity than the IdeaPad.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is somewhat better.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a larger screen which is better for immersive gaming and 3D work, but its refresh rate and GPU may not handle high-end games at maximal settings efficiently. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad X13, while more portable and potentially with a better CPU and screen quality, also lacks a top-tier GPU and high refresh rate, limiting its gaming and 3D capabilities.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is only fair.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 typically offers higher performance with stronger CPU, graphics, and more RAM, which is critical for resource-intensive engineering applications and affects screen quality for detailed design work, whereas the IdeaPad 3 17" may have lower specs in these areas but offers a larger screen. Despite the ThinkPad's advantages, the IdeaPad 3 provides a more spacious display, which is beneficial for multitasking and viewing designs, though it may be less portable and noisier under load, with potential compromises on the keyboard and speaker quality.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and the ThinkPad X13 likely have adequate resolution, panel type, and brightness to offer clear and sharp visuals, making them suitable for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing. In engineering and design, the ability to accurately represent colors is key, and while both laptops have good screen quality, they may not cover professional-grade color gamuts completely, which could be important for precise color work. However, when it comes to gaming and 3D, the refresh rate becomes critical for smooth motion; if these laptops have poor screen quality for this use, they likely have lower refresh rates, making them less ideal for fast-paced games or intensive 3D applications.

"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 G4 has very good input devices, a wide array of security features and ports as well as 5G in the tested configuration. It is more compact and lightweight compared with its predecessor, and it has improved speakers and a slightly better webcam. On the other hand, the fan is more annoying and the performance is barely improved. The battery is worse as well, but this is primarily attributable to the OLED screen - if this aspect is important, buyers should choose the IPS Low Power LCD."
