The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is often less expensive and has a larger 17.3-inch screen, which is beneficial for tasks that require more screen real estate but would be less portable due to its size and weight. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor it uses is competent for general use. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is a bit more expensive with a smaller 14-inch screen, making it more portable. It's equipped with an Intel i7 processor and more RAM, which would provide better performance for intensive tasks. It also has higher battery life, making it suitable for use on the go. Consider how these laptops meet your needs regarding price, screen size, performance, portability, and battery life when making your choice. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3's larger screen with adequate resolution and brightness supports a comfortable experience for general tasks and detailed work like engineering, but its modest refresh rate hampers gaming and 3D performance. The IdeaPad Slim 7i, while having a similar good resolution and brightness, lends itself well to precise color tasks in engineering and design due to a decent color gamut coverage and contrasts. However, like its counterpart, the refresh rate isn't high enough to provide the smooth visuals avid gamers and 3D professionals seek, potentially leading to less fluid motion and rendering.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
"Among Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks."
