The Lenovo Flex 5 14 offers flexibility and cost savings, being a convertible that can act as both a laptop and a tablet, usually with decent battery life, which is great for casual use and media consumption. In contrast, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, while typically more expensive, provides a more premium experience, generally offering a sleeker design, better build quality, and possibly improved performance, which can be beneficial for business users or professionals who require a more robust machine for work tasks. Consider how you'll use the laptop—whether portability and versatility or performance and build are your priorities—when making your choice. Give Feedback

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x and Lenovo Flex 5 14 are both good for engineering and design, though the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is somewhat better.
The Lenovo Flex 5 14, with its versatile 2-in-1 design, generally offers solid CPU, ample RAM, and a high-quality screen which is beneficial for multitasking and visual tasks common in engineering and design, plus the integrated GPU supports moderate graphics work; however, it still maintains good portability and has a comfortable keyboard. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, while being more portable and having less operating noise, also brings strong CPU performance and a sharp screen but might not match the Flex 5 in terms of raw graphics capability due to a less powerful GPU.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x has a better screen than the Lenovo Flex 5 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo Flex 5 14's screen offers acceptable clarity and brightness suitable for daily tasks and productivity, yet may not provide the color accuracy needed for detailed engineering and design work. In contrast, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x features a display with high-resolution and wide color gamuts that ensures sharp and precise visuals critical for professional engineering and creative tasks. However, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D rendering, as their screens lack the high refresh rates required for smooth motion and fast-paced visual handling in these scenarios.

How the Lenovo Flex 5 14 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x compare to other laptops
"The highlight of the latest IdeaPad Flex 5 14 is clearly its AMD CPU. The octa-core Ryzen 7 5700U is insanely fast even when compared to the best Tiger Lake Ultrabooks in the market or even Core H CPUs in many gaming laptops. It's a lot of raw processing power for what is supposed to be a budget 14-inch convertible. If your daily workloads can benefit from extra multi-thread CPU performance, then look no further than the inexpensive AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14. For regular on-the-road browsing or video streaming, however, a slimmer and lighter 10th gen Core Yoga, Spectre, or XPS would be a more balanced option."
