For a balance of performance and portability with a high-quality screen suitable for gaming and engineering tasks, the Lenovo Legion 5 16 is a strong choice, despite its higher price point. It offers a powerful Intel i9 processor and a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, which will handle demanding applications with ease. The 16:10 aspect ratio and high refresh rate make it ideal for fast-paced gaming and detailed engineering work. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, which might not be ideal if you need a laptop for extended periods away from a power outlet. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is more budget-friendly and notably lighter, making it a better option for general use and portability. Its AMD Ryzen 5 processor and integrated Vega 7 graphics are sufficient for everyday tasks, but it may struggle with more intensive gaming or engineering software. The larger 17.3-inch screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio is great for media consumption, though it falls short in color accuracy and resolution compared to the Legion 5. If you prioritize a lower price, lighter weight, and mainly use your laptop for general tasks, the IdeaPad 3 is a solid choice. Give Feedback

Alex Iliev | December 2022
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
