The MSI Raider GE76 is very good for general use, while the HP Stream 14" is only fair.
The HP Stream 14" meets basic needs with modest performance and good portability, beneficial for users needing a lightweight laptop for everyday tasks, offset by its lower CPU and screen quality. In contrast, the MSI Raider GE76 offers top-tier performance and screen quality conducive to demanding applications and crisp visuals at the expense of heavier weight and shorter battery life, suited for users who prioritize power over portability.

The MSI Raider GE76 is excellent for engineering and design, while the HP Stream 14" is poor.
The HP Stream 14" is equipped with modest components like an Intel Celeron processor, integrated graphics, and a lower resolution screen, making it unsuitable for demanding engineering and design tasks which require robust performance, while the MSI Raider GE76, with its high-end Intel i7 processor, Nvidia RTX GPU, and higher resolution display, provides the powerful capabilities required for such intensive use. Despite being less portable, the performance benefits of the MSI Raider GE76 make it the preferred choice for users needing a laptop for engineering and design work.

The MSI Raider GE76 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP Stream's screen may lack sharpness and detail due to lower resolution and brightness, making it less enjoyable for everyday tasks, while its colors and refresh rate aren't suited for professional design work or fluid 3D experiences. The MSI Raider GE76, on the other hand, offers vibrant colors and sharp images that benefit engineers and designers requiring color accuracy, but its lower refresh rate may not satisfy gamers looking for smooth motion in fast-paced games. General users will appreciate the MSI's superior display for a more vivid and clear viewing experience in regular usage.

"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
