The HP Omen 17 offers higher performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and intensive gaming due to its stronger processor and GPU, but it is less portable given its larger size and heavier weight. If gaming or heavy graphic tasks are essential and you don’t plan to move the laptop frequently, it's a suitable option. On the other hand, the MSI Prestige 15 is more portable and offers better battery life, making it a good fit for business professionals and those who prioritize ease of carrying their laptop around. However, it won't perform as well in demanding tasks due to a less powerful GPU and an older processor generation. Both laptops have similar RAM and build quality, with the HP having a better screen resolution and refresh rate. If budget is a concern, the MSI usually comes at a lower price. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 17 has a better screen than the MSI Prestige 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the HP Omen 17 excels with its high resolution and brightness, offering sharp and vivid visuals that enhance everyday tasks, while the MSI Prestige 15, with similar attributes, provides a clear and bright display suitable for various applications. In the engineering and design space, both laptops display good color accuracy and a range of colors, making them reliable for precise work that demands color fidelity. For gaming and 3D applications, however, the lower refresh rates on both models make for less fluid motion and slower response times, which are not ideal for fast-paced visuals that benefit from higher refresh rates.

How the HP Omen 17 and the MSI Prestige 15 compare to other laptops
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
"The MSI Prestige 15 offers a dazzling 4K image quality, and solid performance. The MSI Prestige 15 appears to consistently implement the guiding principle of throttling the solid and efficient hardware to such an extent that content creation succeeds perfectly. Performance-hungry tasks, on the other hand, are slowed down a little by the reduced power consumption. Conversely, this means that the case remains relatively cool and the dual fan subdued. The battery life also benefits somewhat. So the losses aren't really dramatic because full performance is still available for short bursts."
