The HP Omen 17 offers better performance for 3D rendering, engineering tasks, and gaming due to its more powerful processor and graphics card, along with greater storage and memory. It also has higher screen resolution and refresh rate, which could improve your visual experience. However, it's heavier and larger, making it less portable, and it's typically more expensive. The MSI GF63 Thin, on the other hand, is lighter and likely less expensive, with moderate performance suitable for general use and less intensive gaming. It may have shorter battery life and less impressive screen specs compared to the HP Omen 17. Consider the HP Omen 17 for demanding tasks and the MSI GF63 Thin for more casual use and portability. NotebookCheck

Marc Herter | September 2022
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | January 2020
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
