The HP Omen 17 is more suitable if you need high performance for gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning, as it has a more powerful processor and a top-tier dedicated graphics card. However, it is heavier, less portable, and comes at a higher price. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" offers good general-use performance, a touch screen, and is more affordable, lighter, and offers better battery life, making it easier to carry around. It has integrated graphics, which are less powerful for demanding tasks. Consider the HP for intensive tasks and the Lenovo for everyday use and portability. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering general use, the HP Omen 17's superior resolution and brightness offer more clarity and visibility, making it very good for daily activities like browsing and streaming, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" provides a decent but less remarkable visual experience. For engineering and design tasks, the HP Omen 17's wider color gamut ensures more accurate color representation which is critical, whereas the Lenovo has adequate color performance not ideal for precision work. Gamers and 3D designers, however, would find the HP Omen 17's lower refresh rate less smooth for fast-paced scenes compared to laptops designed for gaming, and while the Lenovo similarly isn't geared towards these demands, both may suffice for casual or non-competitive play.

How the HP Omen 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is convincing due to its long battery life. The device scores points especially with its large battery and long battery runtimes combined with its low consumption. The CPU and GPU perform in the test as one would expect, and in line with what was familiar from the somewhat smaller 14-inch sister model, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14."
