The HP Omen 16 offers a solid balance of price and performance, suitable for gamers and general users who are budget-conscious. It has decent battery life, a good display, and enough power for most tasks. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS77 is more expensive but comes with higher specs, a larger and better-quality display, and improved battery life, which can be advantageous for intensive tasks like 3D modeling, gaming, or video editing. It is less portable due to its size and weight. Choose the HP for value or the MSI if you need top performance and a larger screen, acknowledging the higher price and reduced portability. The MSI Stealth GS77 has a better screen than the HP Omen 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
Considering general use, the HP Omen 16 offers a good balance between clarity and visibility thanks to its resolution and brightness, making it easy on the eyes for a variety of tasks. For engineering and design, although both laptops deliver vibrant and precise colors, the MSI Stealth GS77 stands out with its wider color gamut coverage, essential for professionals who need accurate color representation. When it comes to gaming and 3D, the lower refresh rate of both the HP Omen 16 and MSI Stealth GS77 can detract from the smoothness and responsiveness that fast-paced scenes demand, which may disappoint gamers accustomed to more fluid visuals.

How the HP Omen 16 and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
